The USD 232 Education Foundation recognized Audrey Bolt-Gallegos, a fourth-grade teacher at Mize Elementary, as the USD 232 Making a Difference Award winner for December 2024. This monthly honor from the USD 232 Education Foundation, in collaboration with Great American Bank, recognizes outstanding district staff who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to positively influencing the lives of USD 232 students.
As her staff and parent nomination shares:
“Mrs. Bolt-Gallegos is an exceptional teacher. She knows how to make her lessons engaging and brings in real-world content to give her students amazing experiences. I cannot say enough about her as an educator in our district. She always puts her students first and gives them what they need to be happy and successful. It blows me away when I think of all she has done for my son and our school. We are so very lucky to have her!”
Audrey recently joined the the staff at Mize Elementary in July 2024. Before joining the fourth-grade team at Mize, Audrey received several teaching awards including Committed to Service Award, Educator of Promise Award, Promoting Positivity Award, and Outstanding Early Childhood Education Student Award. Audrey received her BA in Elementary Education from Washburn University in 2018 then earned her Masters in School Leadership from Baker University in 2022.
As part of the Making a Difference Award, Audrey was presented with a $250 check from the USD 232 Education Foundation and Great American Bank. She also received a Making a Difference Award trophy, designed and constructed by CAPS students at Cedar Trails Exploration Center.
The USD232EF is currently accepting nominations for the next Making a Difference Award. Nominations will be received through the end of January 2025 with the next award being presented in February. Nominations are reviewed monthly so individuals can and should submit a form on a monthly basis for their deserving nominee.
